  2. Is the Bluetooth turned on? Bluetooth must be enabled so the mobile device can communicate with the Precept Touch.

  5. Does the mobile device have the latest app? Make sure you have an up‑to‑date version of the app to get the latest feature and fixes.
  6. Are you logged into the app? You must be logged in for the app to run in the background. If you are not logged in, the app cannot communicate with the Precept Touch.

  9. Has the mobile device battery died since the last time the app was open? If the mobile device battery died, requiring a full charge before use, then the app must be re-opened in order to restart the Bluetooth connection. iOS will not restart the Bluetooth connection automatically.
  10. Is the mobile device on the outside of the door? The Precept Touch will only lock or unlock if the mobile device is on the outside of the door.
  11. Is the mobile device at an arm length away from the Precept Touch? If the mobile device is too close to the Precept Touch, the Precept Touch may think the mobile device is on the inside of the door.
  12. Does the Precept Touch need to be recalibrated? If the mobile device was often used too close to the Precept Touch, it may have “learned” the bad behavior. To learn the proper location for the mobile device, put it where you normally carry the mobile device, then activate the Precept Touch 10 times.
